Quel est ce corps qui me détruit ?
Résumé:
L’annonce du diagnostic de cancer du sein est un choc émotionnel pour les patientes et l’entourage. Cependant pour traiter le cancer du sein, bien souvent, il faut avoir recourt à la chirurgie : la mastectomie. Cet acte est à viser thérapeutique mais il enlève une part de féminité à la femme. Elles doivent donc apprendre à réapproprier ce corps qui n’est désormais plus totalement le leur.
Les infirmiers jouent un rôle important dans cette situation car ils accompagnent les patientes pour les aider à accepter ce schéma corporel qui est modifié.
J’ai donc posé comme question profane : Comment l’infirmière accompagne t’elle la modification de l’image corporelle d’une patiente mastectomisée ?
Après avoir réalisé une recherche théorique, j’ai interrogé cinq infirmières : trois dans un institut spécialisé en oncologie et deux autres au CHU.
Cela a mis en évidence le rôle majeur des infirmiers mais aussi le travail pluridisciplinaire notamment avec les soins de supports. De ce fait, j’ai posé comme question de recherche : Comment les soins de supports coordonnés par les infirmiers peuvent soulager les patients des effets indésirables liés aux traitements contre le cancer ?

Abstract:
A cancer diagnosis is an emotional shock for the patient and family. However to treat breast cancer, surgery is often an option : a mastectomy. This act is therapeutic but it removes part of the woman’s feminity. They must learn to reclaim a body which is no longer entirely theirs.
Nurses play a major role in this situation because they work with patients to help them accept this modified body image.
So I asked an initial question : How can a nurse assist a patient with her body image changes after a mastectomy ?
After doing theoretical research, I realised five semi structured interview : three in an institute specialized in oncology and two in a hospital.
This highlighted the major role of nurses but also of multidisciplinary work, especially with the supportive care. Therefore, I asked as research question : How supportive care coordinated by nurses can relieve patients of adverse effects related to cancer treatments ?
