La communication avec le nouveau-né n’est pas aussi évidente qu’elle n’y paraît. C’est donc par ce choix de thème pour mon travail de fin d’étude que j’ai souhaité apporter des éléments pouvant améliorer notre rôle relationnel et nos échanges auprès du nouveau-né de 0 à 3 mois. Je suis donc partie d’une question de départ qui est la suivante : « Qu’est-ce que l’usage des cinq sens peut apporter dans l’approche relationnelle de l’infirmier avec le nouveau-né de 0 à 3 mois ? ». Afin d’apporter une piste réflexive sur cette question de départ, j’ai commencé mes recherches en évoquant le développement du nouveau-né au travers d’auteurs connus dans le monde de la pédiatrie. Un autre champs disciplinaire relatif à la communication a été développé. J’y ai donc lié les 5 sens et son rôle dans la communication avec le nouveau-né. Et enfin, j’ai développé le rôle relationnel de l’infirmier. Afin de confronter mes recherches à la réalité du terrain j’ai mené des entretiens auprès d’infirmières et infirmières puéricultrices en pédiatrie. Ce travail de fin d’étude permet d’apporter des pistes réflexives sur la prise en soin du nouveau- né en passant par la communication et la relation de soin.

Communication with the newborn is not as obvious as it seems. Therefore, it is with this choice of theme for my end-of-study work, that I wished to bring elements that could improve our caregiving relationship and our exchanges with the newborn from 0 to 3 months.
I therefore started with the following question : « How can the use of the five senses bring to the relational approach of the nurse with the newborn from 0 to 3 months? « . In order to bring a reflexive track on this starting question, I began my research by mentioning the development of the newborn through known authors in the world of pediatrics. Another disciplinary field related to communication was developed. I linked the 5 senses and their role in the communication with the newborn. And finally, I developed the caregiving relationship of the nurse. In order to confront my research with the reality of the field, I conducted interviews with nurses and pediatric nurses. This end-of-study work allows to bring reflexive tracks on the care of the newborn through communication and the caregiving relationship.
